Her passion for reading blossomed early, often participating in reading competitions at school to earn prizes. Graduating with the first of her college degrees as a mother of two in her late twenties, she embarked on a career as a public-school teacher, specializing in special education at a local middle school—a role she continues to fulfill today. However, as of June 1, 2023, she will transition to writing full time, fulfilling her lifelong dream. Married to a retired military officer, she and her family settled in central Alabama, where they live with her youngest daughter, Arianna, while her oldest daughter, Brianna, is happily married.
